We are what we remember.
I remember being betrayed and murdered. I remember rising from my own grave. I remember my vengeance upon the Chosen of Tyrr. I remember my victories, my defeats, and my sins. With all eternity stretched out before me, all I want is to forget.
Hounded by my mother, my lovers, my friends, my allies, and everyone who craves something from me, there is no peace to be found anywhere. Worst of all is the Lady of the Dread Hunt whose twisted agenda leaves me aroused and confused. Am I her predator or her prey?
To placate me, the Conclave offers me a place among the pantheon as an equal. All I have to do is cease to be myself and give up my claim to vengeance.
The high gods have spoken. My reply will rattle the heavens.

Free Companion
Raven Queen, Ascend stands alone. However, because you have waited impatiently for a long time (or haven’t read Death Descends or Raven Queen, Arise or Righteous Disobedience), this free Novel Companion is a summary of important characters and spoilers from the previous books to refresh your memory (and mine).
Perhaps being as unreasonable as Illyria can be at times, I assume that we all remember what went before. This saves us both a lot of didactic prose and allows us to dive directly into the next, fresh story with Illyria, her lovers, and her haters, new and old.
If you haven’t read or don’t remember, perhaps give this a read first and then dive into Raven Queen, Ascend.
As the story resumes…
At the end of Raven Queen, Arise, Illyria had just begun to settle into her tender, new relationship with her pair of lovers, Z’nnek and Tourak, knowing full well that she has been summoned to Conclave with the high gods and the old in four days’ time.
Illyria has no intention to comply with the tyrant Twin Gods’ summons.
Read the free Raven Queen, Ascend Companion to find out why!
